Uncharmed
Lucy Jane Wood
Pan Macmillan
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was so excited to be invited by Book Break (Pan Macmillan) to participate in a week long readalong of Uncharmed by Lucy Jane Wood! I had so much fun in the group chat with a bunch of other lovely readers, checking in every day, discussing our thoughts and falling in love with these characters. I ended the week by going to see Lucy talk on her tour in Oxford which was absolutely perfect. Below is my spoiler free review. While my copy of Uncharmed was generously gifted by Pan Macmillan, my thoughts are my own 🖤

What do you get when you cross a pink wearing, cinnamon bun baking, perfectionist witch with a chaotic, troubled teenage witch full of teen angst and wild spirit? and lets throw in a handsome grumpy cottage owner just for good measure? A truly nostalgic feeling found family story where underdogs come together and heal the tiny fractures in eachothers hearts.
This was everything I had hoped for 🩷 I'm starting to wonder if Lucy herself is a witch, the way she's able to weave such warmth and heart through her stories is nothing short of magical.
This book is for the perfectionists, the ones that hold themselves to such high a standard they leave no time or energy to truly care for themselves. This book is for the people who yearn to be accepted just as they are, to be loved for who they are rather than what they can do or provide for others.
Uncharmed made me laugh, made me cry, and made me feel seen. I feel so at home in these pages 🫶🏼

Lucy was an absolute delight to hear talk on her tour - you can tell she has a true love for girl power, nostalgia and magic. Kindness absolutely radiates from her and after falling in love with Uncharmed, and her Debut, Rewitched, I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.
